5th Grade Visits Leroy Oakes5º grado visita Leroy Oakes

5th grade students visited Leroy Oakes forest Preserve on April 19th.  They worked with the Kane County forest preserve staff to complete many hands-on activities.  Students made observations of Ferson Creek by checking the creek’s temperature, observing plants and animals around the creek, and by looking for signs of the health of the creek.  Students also played games modeling the water cycle and amphibian life cycles.  Students also spent some time exploring the Creek Bend Nature Center where they saw many different taxidermized animals and a large model of a native creek.
